'PES Unites' is the key phrase Konami is using to sum up the ethos of the new game. PES 2009 also improves on its many existing game modes and adds a number of new ways to play the game. Central to this is the new 'Become a Legend' solo mode, which casts the user as a midfielder or striker within a match. Using a default vertical camera view, the player starts as a rookie pro at the start of their career, and charts the many highs and lows of becoming a professional player. An extension of the popular 'Fix' mode, the 'Become a Legend' mode sees the player operate in their favoured attacking position, and work as part of the overall team as opposed to controlling every member as in a normal game.

If successful, the player must first cement their place in the starting line-up with strong performances, before catching the eye of bigger clubs and earning a move to top flight teams. Of course, results are everything in modern day football, and players must force their way into contention or face lengthy stints as a substitute or eventually be forced to take a step down to a smaller club if performances are not good enough. The 'Become a Legend' mode has already proved a massive hit in Japanese versions of PES since 2007, and is certain to enjoy similar status across Europe.

PES 2009 also boasts an online variant of the 'Become a Legend' mode, entitled simply 'Legends.' Players can use their saved player in online matches with like-minded friends, and can show their skills on the larger online stage.

The PES series has always been famed for its deep yet accessible control system, but the new game is aiming even higher. PES 2009 offers an unprecedented level of control, redefining the intricacies of first touch, close control and ball distribution, while also enhancing its shooting and AI mechanisms to create an all-round footballing experience. Konami's Tokyo-based Pro Evolution Soccer Production Team has introduced new control systems wherein the player can now perform tricks and feints without the use of special moves, but within the context of the player's run and via rapid turns and movements of the Dpad or analogue stick.

Likewise, the way the player guides the ball has been changed. The PES series has always treated the ball as a separate entity, but new calculations related to the air resistance and friction of the ground make passing and movement in PES 2009 a great deal more realistic. Different weather conditions will now have a more pronounced effect on the weight and movement of passes, with players having to compensate for more heavy conditions in poor weather.

Producer Shingo 'Seabass' Takatsuka and his team have also worked to extend the remit of their Teamvision AI routines, with on-screen team mates adapting their tactics according to current situations, and moving into space to assist the player in attacking and defensive situations. Teamvision also recognizes strategies that work for or against it, and will accumulate the data for use in Master League and League mode.

The ever-present Master League has also been reworked, with negotiations now a lot simpler and conducted on a two-tier club and personal basis, while loyalty now plays a part with disaffected players' moods having an adverse affect on their performances.

Adding an all-new layer of gloss to PES 2009's much-enhanced realism, the game has also undergone a radical aesthetic upgrade. Stadiums now have more realistic environment and atmospheric elements, while the PLAYSTATION®3 and Xbox 360 versions will also showcase LED hoardings. Likewise, the way distance is shown has been changed, with the use of contrast adding a depth field to the action, while there is also a new vertical camera angle that automatically switches to a closer proximity during key one-on-one situations.

Every player in the game has also been totally redefined, with all new face and body detail, with further facial animations and kit detailing adding to the realism. The game's Edit mode has also been boosted with the ability to create bespoke matches via the importing of faces, kits, and even sound files for specific music and crowd chants for any team. A new Pixel Paint system has also been integrated, allowing players to create their own club crests and badges to add to their home-grown kits.

Where to find: Tsavo Highway
On Tsavo Highway, about halfway through the mission (right after you are forced to walk through a large blue barrier), you will come out of a tunnel on the highway, and see a large pipeline on your left. Drop down in between the two, and run to the wall in front of you. Follow the wall all the way to where it connects with the cliff on your right, and turn to the left. There should be a few ledges--simply crouch jump from ledge to ledge, and the last one should have the "Tough Luck" skull on it. Mythic SkullEffect: Every enemy on the field now has double their normal amount of health.

How to find: As soon as the mission starts walk up the hill in front of you and into the cave. Hug the right side of the cave and after a large boulder you will see a path on your right, just take the short path and it will be at the end.

Location: First pick up a grav lift from the small building near where you fight the scarab. Defeat a Normal Staff Ghosts with a time at least seven seconds faster to unlock the Expert Staff Ghost for that course.
Alternate title screen and ending sequence
Get a "One Star" rank or better in all Cups, including those in Mirror mode to unlock an alternate title screen and ending sequence.
Special credits
Win all trophies in a class to view the credits and see a congratulations screen featuring your Mii with Mario and Peach. Win all Grand Prix Cups to get another congratulations screen featuring your Mii with all the racers.
Easier control
If you experience turning, wheelie, or trick issues using the Wii Wheel, try using the Nunchuck and Wii-mote.
Quick start
When the countdown starts, wait until the "2" begins to disappear, then hold 2 to get a boost at the start of the race.
When the timer to begin the race just starts, hold 1 + 2. As soon as it is about to say "Go", release both buttons and press 2 as you would normally do to start the race. If done correctly, you will get a nice boost that will usually put you in first place in the 50cc and 100cc class. Note: This may require some practice.
Quick recovery from collision
When you fall into an obstacle, press 2 precisely when you land to get a temporary boost.
Quick recovery from POW Block
You must have drifting set to manual for this trick to work. Before the third strike from a POW Block, start to drift so that your kart or bike will be in the air for the third strike. When you land, you should only spin once and maintain about the same speed.
When an opponent uses a POW Block, it will spin you out on the third POW, causing you to lose an item and speed. However, if you perform a wheelie on a bike as soon as your hear the third POW, you will spin and lose your item but maintain your speed. Additionally, if you shake the Wii-mote, it will create a force field and protect you. Also, if you are off the ground (not jumping) from something such as a ramp, you will avoid the POW Block. -From: Greg
Quick recovery on bike after being hit
While on a bike, after you are hit or run into an item, perform a wheelie to increase your speed quickly.
Boost
To get a small boost while racing, get on a long straight road. You also cannot turn while doing this trick. If done correctly, you will see several blue streaks that fly behind you. Keep driving straight, and you will see a blue force field in front of you. You then will get a boost for three to four seconds. Note: This does not always work.
Easy hit
To score an automatic hit on anyone in a race, place a banana or fake item box immediately after you land from a DK Cannon. They will be forced to land on it.
Use same character with more than one player
This glitch works because you are automatically placed on the character you last selected. First, make have player one choose the character desired. Next, deselect the character, and move off it. Have player two select the character. Go back one screen, then enter the character selection screen again. You should now both be on the same character. Then, have both players select the character. Note: This trick also works for three and four players.
Changing Mii driver's class
Enter the Mii Channel, and change the weight of your Mii. This will cause your Mii driver in the game to change to the corresponding weight class and give you access to the corresponding new vehicles.
Fast time in Coconut Mall
To get the Expert Staff Ghost on the Coconut Mall time trial, use the Wild Wing medium kart. Take a right into a store on the right side after the first escalator, then use a mushroom. You will see a Delfino tree person at the door.
DK Summit shortcut
After you shoot out of the cannon and come up to the turn, go off the jump toppers on the left. This should send you soaring through the curve and give you a good lead.
Hidden items in DS Delfino Square
Hit the crates on the side of the road with either your kart or a shell. A Super Mushroom will sometimes pop out, but very close to the edge.
Koopa Cape shortcut
Once you go over the ramp leading into the fast stream, keep going around, and enter through the little arch with the ramp on the left. This requires something that gives speed, such as a Super Mushroom, Invincibility Star, or Golden Mushroom. Instead of going around the giant red hat, pass through the grass behind it, giving a straightaway path. This will help you win the race and improve your ghost times in Time Trials mode.
Hidden items in Koopa Cape
After making the first jump, you will notice a few Goombas walking in place. Fire a shell at one to reveal either nothing or a Super Mushroom. You can also run into one if it is in the status of a Mega Mushroom, Invincibility Star, or Bullet Bill.
Hidden items in Maple Treeway
There are many leaf piles on the track. Run through one to reveal a Super Mushroom or Banana Peel. Once you get on top of the tree with the caterpillar creatures, an Invincibility Star may be found in one of the bushes on the left side of the treetop, but not on every lap. You may need to veer off to the left after hitting the bush because the star pops out jumping left. This is useful in getting far ahead of the group if in first place or to catch up if near last place.
Hidden items in Mushroom Gorge
There are some Goombas on the track that contain Super Mushrooms or absolutely nothing.
Using Triple Shells as ramming weapon
After you get a Triple Shell item of any color, press 2 so that all three are spinning around you. Before you launch them, you can use them to ram other cars. It does the same damage as if you launched them at an opponent.
Avoiding Spiky Shells
When you are in first place and have a Spiky Shell coming at you, hit the brakes so the racers behind you will get stuck in the blast, allowing you to keep your lead.
Defending against Blue Shells
This trick requires a Mushroom. The Blue Shell goes up and comes down. Before it hits, you will have time to use a Mushroom and avoid the shell. You should boost forward and the Blue Shell should explode behind you.
This trick requires some sort of speeding item, such as a Speed Mushroom. You must be in first place to get a Blue Shell targeted at you. Once the Blue Shell is above your head, use the speeding item just before it descends. It will make a large explosion behind you, but will miss. You can also avoid them by using the following tricks on the indicated courses:
DK Summit: Go through the DK Cannon.
N64: DK's Jungle Parkway: Go over the jumps over the yellow river.
GCN: DK Mountain: Go through the DK Cannon.
Rainbow Road: Go through the tunnel with the giant stars on each end.
Defending against Red Shells
You can block Red Shells by equipping an item behind you. Once you have an item, hold D-pad Left or D-pad Right. Items that work are Green Shells, Red Shells, and Bananas. Do not hold Fake Item Boxes or Bob-ombs behind you.
Avoiding Red and Green Shells
To avoid a Red or Green Shell, go on a DK Cannon if one is available. The shell will disappear at the entrance. You can also use this trick for clouds. They will disappear above you on the cannons, and you will not be affected by them.
Team drafting boost
This trick requires two or more players. While playing in VS. Team racing, draft by following a friend somewhat closely from behind. Once you get the boost, go around him or her to take the lead in front of them. Have that friend draft behind you. Keep repeating this to quickly finish a race.
Winning online
A win counts as long as points are added to your total score. For example, if you get fifth, or sometimes sixth, place in an online race, it is still considered a win. The same goes for Battle Online. You can be on the losing team, but if you scored enough coins or hits and it adds points to your score, then it can be a win.
Golden Wii Wheel icon
After using the Wii Wheel extensively in all modes, a golden Wii Wheel will appear next to your name when you go online.
Profile name stars
You can add a star next to your profile name on the results screen and the Wi-Fi races by completing all Grand Prix races with a certain rank:
One star profile name: Earn a "One Star" rank in all Grand Prix races.
Two star profile name: Earn a "Two Star" rank in all Grand Prix races.
Three star profile name: Earn a "Three Star" rank in all Grand Prix races.
Rank requirements
The following are requirements to get a "One Star", "Two Star", or "Three Star" rank:
Get a final score of 53 or better.
Lead most of the laps.
Stay in first place for a good period of time.
Do a lot of tricks on ramps.
Avoid having to use Bullet Bills to catch up.
Use lots of techniques such as wheelies, avoiding POW Blocks, etc.
Do not fall off edges too much (one or two times is acceptable). If you get hit by many Spiny Shells and still win, this indicates that you are resistant and will probably have a high rank.
A perfect 60 is required for a "Three Star" rank. A "Two Star" rank ranges from 55 to 60. A "One Star" rank is 53 to 60 with most or all of these requirements.

Giant Crystal Skull
Collect all 30 Crystal Skulls to unlock the Giant Crystal Skull. At the beginning of Chapter 13, after going through a few rooms with enemies, you will reach a large green pillar in a room with centaurs. The Giant Crystal Skull is also there. Its description reads "Obtainable only by those with superhuman powers of observation." Its detailed description reads "A gigantic crystal skull from ancient legend. According to legend, this enormous skull belonged to a giant who walked the earth long ago. In these ancient times, the world knew no peace, and tribes fought each other to near extinction. None could see an end to this chain of suffering, until the giant appeared. He vowed to bear the sins of mankind upon his own soul, and offered himself as a sacrifice to the gods. His skull was then locked away in a room overflowing with human suffering." The legend ends with the warning, "He who possesses this skull must accept the date of the giant as his own."
Crystal Skull Gamerpic
Collect all 30 Crystal Skulls to unlock the Crystal Skull Gamerpic.
Ryu Gamerpic
Successfully complete the game on the Path Of The Master Ninja difficulty to unlock the Ryu Gamerpic.
Recommended Dragon Sword upgrade
Unless you want to waste 30,000 Karma points, it is recommended that you do not upgrade the Dragon Sword. Use one of the other weapons available, such as the Falcon's Talons, the Dragon's Claw and Tiger's Fang, Vigoorian Flail, Tonfa, Elipse Scythe, Kusari-gama, or the Lunar Staff. The Falcon's Talons are recommended. By level 3 or 4 you should be able to max upgrade the weapon of your choice, then use it throughout the game. In the beginning of Chapter 11, there will be an intermission sequence in which you get the Dragon's Eye, which will max the Dragon Sword's level automatically.
Managing health
You can only hold a limited amount of health restoratives, which are the Herb Of Spiritual Life and the Grains Of Spiritual Life. However, whenever you use a Lives Of The Thousand Gods, after the health meter increases, it will also restore your health. Hold on to the Lives Of The Thousand Gods as long as you can because it will restore all of your health as well as increasing it.
Bypassing enemies
Trigger an enemy, retreat to a save spot, save your game, and reload. When you return to the location where you triggered the enemies, they should no longer be there. Note: This does not work in some locations due to save spots being blocked off.
Easy Essence in Chapter 1
After the second Crystal Skull (where there are two flame archers), continue down the path, and kill the ninjas. Jump past the first pipe. There are two pipes leading towards a safe point. Save your game, then go back. Jump past the first two pipes, and walk towards the single one. Turn 180 degrees, and jump onto the first of the two pipes (towards the save point). Hang there, and release. Turn the camera to see four or five respawning ninjas coming at you. Load up your ultimate technique, and kill the ninjas. If done correctly, you will get 2,000 Essence per attempt. This works with a Dragon Sword, but the best weapon is the Lunar Staff. You can get that weapon further in the chapter then backtrack to this location. After you have done this, walk up the ladder, go to the same pipe, and let go again. The ninjas will attack again. You will have more than enough time to load up your ultimate technique. Sometimes they do not all come at once. If this happens, you will have to fight one or two ninjas at the ladder. You can use the Essence collected to upgrade your weapons in the first chapter (Dragon Sword and Lunar Staff). Just go to Muramasa, then return to the farming location. Upgrade your Lunar Staff first because it works well during Essence farming. You can then buy a Talisman Of Rebirth and save the rest of your Essence.
Easy Yellow Orbs in Chapter 2
When you run up the planks of wood to get onto the roof, you will fight three enemies. Defeat the enemies, but do not fall down to the room below. Simply kill the enemies, jump back to the planks, then jump back to the roof. As you land, immediately double charge your weapon of choice, and kill the enemies again. They will continue to respawn as long as you do not jump down into the room below. It is possible to get 120,000 Yellow Orbs in about two hours.
Rod Of Trial in Chapter 2
The Rod Of Trial is an item that grants access to the Test Of Valor, which is a series of challenges found in several chapters that, upon completion of a test, will reward the victor with rare and useful items. In order to get the Rod Of Trial, defeat all the enemies running down from the stairs and into the yard. When you have killed all the ninjas, the candles behind the fence will light up, and the Rod Of Trial will appear. If you hare having difficulty defeating the enemies in the yard, target the archers around the perimeter before killing the ninjas rushing towards you. The arrows from the archers are difficult to spot, especially if you are surrounded by a group of ninjas. The in-game description of the Rod Of Trial is "A rod symbolizing the fighting spirit, cast from the purest of gold. Those upon whom it is bestowed face an endless path of battle, as though they walked through the underworld itself. It is said that those who carry it must face hordes of opponents in fights to the death known as Tests of Valor. According to legend, this treasure was one possessed by the god of war himself."
Easy "Feat Of A Hundred Slashes" achievement in Chapter 3
Move next to the save point near the first Test Of Valor warp point. From there you can drop down to the subway. It is here that you can get the 100-hit combo with almost no effort. Once you have dropped down, run toward the subway cars. Try to get into the little hole under the cars, and kill almost all enemies. Eventually you will see two enemies appear near the opening from where you came from. If everyone is dead, one will rush up and the other will try to hit you with arrows. Wait until the enemy running toward you is almost in the pit. Once he is that close, jump up in the air and hit him with shurikens. You should get about four hits each time. The ninja will just stand there and not attempt to block. Do this as rapidly as possible. As you hit the ninja he will stumble back. Eventually you will need to close the distance. Once this has occurred, you must start jumping back and forth to avoid the ninja shooting the arrows, and continue your shuriken attack on the first ninja. He will die once you have hit him about 70 times. Once he dies, you will hear him grunt. You will then have to close the distance with the other ninja. He will also run toward you to close the gap as well. Repeat the same trick as above (jump and throw). You will get the achievement easily.
Hidden Xbox in Chapter 4
Enter the Statue Of Liberty museum across from the Test Of Valor. There is a breakable wall that looks like it is made of straw. Slice it open to find a silver Xbox that will fully restore your health an unlimited number of times.
Easy Yellow Essence in Chapter 6
Just after the Giant Skeleton mini-Boss, you will encounter more Scorpion Skeletons. Fight and Wall Run your way through until you get up a floor. Then, drop down, and make your way back up to get more Yellow Essence. Repeat this as many time as desired. -From: Mark Winzenread
Easy "Feat Of A Hundred Slashes" achievement in Chapter 6
Before the Giant Skeleton mini-Boss, a large number of Scorpion Skeletons will attack. Jump around them, and throw shurikens until you reach a 100-hit combo.
Vigoorian Flail in Chapter 9
Immediately after you defeat the tunneling worm mini-Boss and follow the path it makes out, there will be a small fork in it. If you take the fork to the right, you should find yourself climbing a small hill. Atop the hill is a corpse. Examine it to find the Vigoorian Flail.
Easy Yellow Essence in Chapter 14
When you get to the save point and go to the room where the Blood Eels appear, go back to land, and take out the Eclipse Scythe. This strategy works much better than using the Harpoon Gun because the eels cannot damage you while you are on land. Keep attacking the Blood Eels until they are all dead. Once the eels are dead, go back to the save point. Save the game, and the eels will automatically respawn each time you go back into the room. This makes collecting Yellow Essence easy as long as you stay on land to kill them.
Boss obliterations
Several Bosses in the game actually have an obliteration you can perform on them. For example, towards the end of Silver Worm and Fire Armadillo's lives they will be stunned. When you can walk up, press Y to finish them off. Note: The greater fiends and Geshin do not have one.
Crystal Skull locations
The Crystal Skulls are found at the following locations:
Chapter 1
1. After getting the Fire Ninpo, you will come outside to a ledge where you are supposed to jump off and land below to fight more enemies. If timed correctly, you can jump across to the roof on the other side to get the Skull you can see from where you are standing. If you fall short, use the ladder to climb up and try again.
2. The Skull is found next to the first flaming archers you encounter. Run up and jump off the tree halfway down the stairs as you walk towards the bridge they are firing from.
Chapter 2
3. Go to the river bed shortly after learning the Water-Run technique. The Skull is resting on the bottom near the end of the river before the bridge. Hold A to dive down and collect it.
4. Defeat the sub-Boss in the room with the giant golden dragon winding around. Go to the second floor, and jump to the platform on the left-hand side. Smash through the wall to find a hidden room with the Skull on one of the shelves.
Chapter 3
5. Near the beginning of the sewer area, after learning the Wind Blades technique, there should be a short path to the right with a metal staircase. Ascend the stairs to reach the Skull near the top.
6. After you learn how to perform the Invisible Path technique, go the opposite way of the main path. There is a small crevice in the wall you can run back and forth on to reach a rock platform with the Skull.
Chapter 4
7. Go to the streets shortly after exiting the subway. After running for a little while and turning a few corners, you will find an open area and some crowded apartment buildings to your right. There is a Skull on one of the steel apartment exterior staircases/balconies near a ninja corpse. Use Wall Run to reach it.
8. Near the middle of the level when jumping from the broken overpass to a ladder, you should see a ledge with a Skull on it in front of you. Either use a correctly timed jump to reach it, or wait until after you get above that area and climb back down a ladder to collect it.
9. The Skull is on the girders inside the Statue Of Liberty. When you are climbing up the stairs to the saved game point, jump on the girders in the middle of the room. You should see the Skull resting on one of them.
Chapter 5
10. Located on a boat in the second body of water you can access. Instead of crossing the bridge, hang left and go around the corner to where you obtain the Kusarigama. Run across the river. The Skull is on one of the boats.
11. Shortly afterwards, you will walk into a marketplace with some tables and chairs with a single exit on the right-hand side. The Skull is immediately to your right outside the doorway you exit.
12. After collecting the Spear Gun and swimming through about two areas, there will be groups of exploding jellyfish creatures. Reach the second group of such creatures on your right in a small passageway. They will respawn for awhile. Keep killing them and collect Essence. After they are all dead, swim over there to find a Skull at the bottom of the floor to your left.
Chapter 6
13. At the very start of the level, immediately turn around and jump on the section of roof behind you that slopes down into the water. Cross over to the other side of the roof. Walk down a few step to find the Skull tucked away very close to where you were originally standing when the level began.
14. When you reach the guillotine, cut the rope for the Skull.
15. In the library with a fireplace inside the castle where you fight a lot of ninjas, there is a Skull on one of the bookshelves. It will appear after you make the books fall out by hitting the bookshelves.
Chapter 7
16. When you first reach the controls at the front of the ship and start destroying them, a Skull will be uncovered slightly to the left of the main control panel.
17. The Skull is hidden in an alcove on your right after you start walking into a new hallway around the time that you find the Tonfas off a dead ninja. It is near some debris.
Chapter 8
18. The Skull is in the snow when you are crossing the minefield. It is found after the first section of mines where everyone was shooting at you through the windows of the three story building.
19. Once you get back inside again and leave the bell tower, you will begin descending a winding square staircase. The Skull is in one of the holes on the wall with candles in it.
20. After you enter the subway, in the room before where you find the dignitary's ID card is a Skull on the right-hand side of the room.
21. The Skull is on one of the gears about halfway up the area where you are jumping from one to another. It is on one of the medium-sized horizontal gears.
Chapter 9
22. Go to the big open body of water you reach with the two searchlights. Go all the way to the right-hand corner. The Skull is behind one of the big wooden towers.
23. After using the Jade Mask and entering a new area, you will eventually reach a rope you must use to climb across to reach the other side. About midway through this climb (just past the giant tree), is a branch you can turn and swing towards on your right. Swing to this and then to one more branch for the Skull.
24. After defeating the worm Boss, immediately after the game save is another area with smaller worm enemies. The Skull is on the far right-hand side of this room on the ground.
25. After watching the short intermission sequence with the dead ninjas floating down the river, jump into the water. The Skull is in a small alcove on the left near the bottom, midway to the other shore.
Chapter 10
26. After the fight with the worm enemies in the acid pit, use a Flying Bird Flip to reach the area above you. Wall Run on the wall to your immediate left, then jump to the one on the right. Once back on solid ground, turn around and Wall Run one more time from the wall on the left, and jump to the ledge in front of you to reach the Skull.
27. Once you enter the area with many flying dragon enemies, you will quickly reach a path descending to the area below. Once it levels out, follow it around to the left instead of where you normally go. The Skull is on the ground in a small open area.
Chapter 11
28. After you pass the second shop, you will climb up a ladder and jump out a window into a familiar village setting from the original Ninja Gaiden. Go to the right of the village, and turn right into a narrow alley near the exit. There is a Skull in the far back right corner of this alley.
29. Pass through an underwater tunnel into a new area. The Skull is in a clearing inside a small wooden structure on the right.
30. Immediately after leaving the ninja fortress, instead of climbing across the rope in front of you, go to your left, and drop down into the opening in the floor. Follow this area back to the beginning of the original game, and jump down all the ramps to the far bottom left to find the Skull.

Easy "Flawless Guitar Solo" achievement
Note: This trick requires that you have transferred the songs from Rock Band to Rock Band 2. Select "Wave Of Mutilation" by the Pixies, and choose the guitar on the Expert difficulty. The solo is only about fifteen notes and are orange and blue. Use the solo buttons to play them.
Easy "Flawless Singing" achievement
Go to Quick Play or Tour mode, and select "So Watcha Want" by the Beastie Boys on the Expert difficulty. When the song starts, put the microphone up to your speaker(s), and hold it there for the duration of the song. The only thing you will have to do is yell to activate Overdrive when it appears and tap the microphone for the solo parts. At the end of the song, you will have a 100% rank and gold stars. Note: Make sure your volume is loud enough. For just a gold star, select "Give It Away" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and do the same thing. You will get a 99% rank without singing. If you want a 100% rank on that song, you must be able to hit the last phrase in the song.
Easy "Million Point Club" achievement
Select "Foreplay/Longtime" by Boston. Two players must be able to play on the Expert difficulty and one player on at least the Medium difficulty. Finish the song with at least 97% each, and you will have well over a million points.
Easy "The Bachman-Turner Award" achievement
Go online or play with friends locally, and have a guitarist, bassist, and drummer. Make sure all players' Overdrives are filled to the maximum. Have the drummer go first and activate Overdrive. Just before his or her meter runs out, have the guitarist activate his or hers. Just before his or hers ends, have the bassist activate his or hers. Each player will keep it going during the duration of the song, earning as you burn overdrive. Pay attention to each others' meters. At the end of the song, you will get the achievement.
Easy "Victory" achievement
Select Score Duel or Tug Of War mode. Plug in a second instrument, and just play one to get the achievement.

Replay bonus
Successfully complete the game, and save when prompted to create a cleared saved game file. Start another game session, encounter Mk II in Act 1, and load the cleared saved game file to get your Drebin Points, weapons, ammunition, items, and special items from your previous game.
Alternate ending
If you fight Mantis with a Sixaxis controller, the ending is different than if you were using a DualShock 3 controller.
Easy Drebin Points
First, acquire the drum can. You do this by finding the soldier that is hiding in the can and using it as a bathroom in Act 1: Middle East - Downtown. After that, go up ahead a few feet, where you will see three crates. When you have gone past them, you will see just two crates. You will also see about three rebel soldiers fighting. One is carrying an RPG and the other two have machine guns. They will die and respawn continuously. You will have a chance to pick up the RPG after the soldier has died three times. Do so because each RPG is worth 6,000 Drebin Points. The important thing is to stay anywhere behind the two crates, otherwise the trick will not work. Going further than the two crates will stop the respawning loop of the soldiers dying. The only way to get the RPG without breaking the respawning loop is to use the Mk II.
When you enter the first hangar in Shadow Moses (with all the mini-Gekkos inside), kill all of them, and proceed to the next area past the two large Gekkos outside. Once you get inside, turn around, and go back to the hangar. All the Gekkos should have respawned. You will get approximately 20,000 Drebin Points each time you clear the area, and the entire process takes about five minutes. There is a ration in the room on the other side of the railing when done on the "Naked Normal" difficulty. Do not forget to pick up the guns and kill the big Gekko outside the base on the other side as well as all the mini-Gekkos. The bandana is not required, but if you do not have it, you will use a lot of ammunition. The grenade launcher is recommended for taking out the mini-Gekkos quickly. Be careful with the grenade launcher as it has a slow reload time. If a Gekko gets too close, you will not be able to reload.
Cheaper Drebin prices
Set the PS3 system date to a Wednesday or Sunday, and Drebin will have cheaper prices. Additionally, all of Drebin's prices are cut by 50% during Act 5.
Easy Bandana and Stealth Suit
To unlock the Bandana and Stealth Suit easier, wait until Act 5 (Drebin's prices are 50% off) to get the items for 2.5 million Drebin Points each instead of the 5 million Drebin Points they normally each cost. -From: Dallas4life04
Extra battery
Save the game during Act 1. Go to the Mission Briefing screen, and select the saved game from Act 1. Press Square to control the Mk II while on the plane. Move the Mk II upstairs, and search for an extra battery. Collecting it will double the operating life of all battery-powered devices in the game.

Control opening commercials
When starting a new game, you are shown two random commercials. You can change the channel by pressing Up and Down to get new commercials. There is also a Hideo 1 and Hideo 2 channel, which are like Video 1 and 2.
At the start of the game when the commercials are on, you can press X to cycle through different channels. You can see a segment where David Hayter is being interviewed wearing a Solid Eye.
Control intermission sequences
During an intermission sequence, press D-pad Up to zoom the camera in, then use the Right Analog-stick to pan the camera around. The harder you press Up, the more zoomed in the camera view. Also, some intermission sequences have prompts to see it through Snake's eyes by holding L1 (look for the icon at the top left of the screen) or view flashback images by repeatedly tapping X when a prompt appears (look for the icon at the top right of the screen). You can also pause an intermission sequence by pressing Start.
Intermission sequence extras
During the following intermission sequences, press L1 to see secret events:
Laughing Octopus: Laughing Octopus quickly leaps away outside the window during one of the L1 sequences when you first meet Naomi.
Naomi's chest: In Act 2, after Snake loses his Psyche when Namoi tells him how long he has, press L1 to look at her chest and recharge Snake's Psyche.
Naomi upskirt: In Act 2, when Snake's talking to Naomi and drops his cigarette, use the hidden L1 option to look up her skirt.
Psycho Mantis' ghost: During the first intermission sequence with Beauty and the Beast, after using the option to look through L1, look to the left to see the ghost of Psycho Mantis.
Sorrow: During the Psycho Mantis intermission sequence, keep L1 held. When Psycho Mantis disappears, you will hear Sorrow say something. Hold L1 (even though you are not prompted), and you will see Sorrow. Press X to start a flashback.
Listening to radio during briefings
During the mission briefings, touch the the radio on the table upstairs with the Mk II, and it will play music.
By switching the radio on and off in Act 4, you will get different songs, including a remixed version of the "Love Theme" from Super Smash Bros. Brawl and the ending theme from Policenauts.
Reset OctoCamo appearance
Shake the Sixaxis controller to return Snake's OctoCamo to its neutral (black and blue) appearance. Note: This can also be done during intermission sequences.
View motion capture actor
When a character is first introduced, press R2 to view that character's motion capture actor instead of his or her voice actor.
Reducing stress
Sit in a box to reduce stress faster.
Regaining Psyche
If something during an intermission sequences causes Snake's Psyche gauge to decrease, rapidly tap X to replenish it.
Regaining health and Psyche
To regain health and Psyche, hold X go into the prone position with no weapon equipped. Snake's health and Psyche gauges will begin to recover. This is useful when trying for a no rations/recovery items completion.
Switching stances faster
To switch between crawling and crouch-walking (and back) faster, move forward while pressing X. Use this trick to get prone behind cover quickly after crouch-walking past an enemy.
Easy hold-ups
Shoot the tranquilizer gun at your target. Get close to the sleeping target, and go into the crouch position. An icon will appear to wake the target up. Press [Action] to wake your target. When he or she is about to wake up, position yourself at either side or the back of the target. Aim your gun, and Snake should hold-up the target. This is an easy way to do CQC and knife kills if you want to get the Assassin's Creed Emblem and costume.
Shoot from inside a dumpster
There are dumpsters throughout the game which you can use to hide. Move in front of them, and press Triangle when the prompt appears. Once inside, if you have a handgun, The Operator for example, you can hold L1 to lift up the lid of the dumpster and aim your gun from inside.
Throw grenades underhanded
While throwing a grenade, lightly hold L1 (default [Aim]) instead of holding it down completely.
Ignored by PMCs
PMC soldiers will ignore you when wearing Otacon's or one of the Beauty's face paints if you are not attacking or displaying a weapon. This allows you to track the Resistance easier.
Faster iPod navigation
Instead of rotating the Right Analog-stick to control the iPod, use Triangle, Square, Circle, and X.
Secret ghost photographs
Equip the Sorrow Doll, and have the camera from the Nomad. You can use that camera to find thirty ghosts in Shadow Moses. After taking pictures of them, they can be viewed in the photo album with a new option. Note: The doll is only needed to see the ghosts prior to taking the photographs.
In Shadow Moses, when you return to Otacon's office to shut down security and turn on the power, take a photograph of the area to the left of the Policenauts poster. When viewed, there will be a superimposed image of Hideo Kojima's face.
Take a picture of the wolves after the Crying Wolf battle. Sniper Wolf's face will appear in the corner.
Secret Sunny and Naomi pictures
Do not pick up the camera during the briefing when it first becomes available. Wait until Act 4 to get the camera, and it will have some funny pictures of Naomi and Sunny playing around in the kitchen.
Hidden development team autographs
While tracking Naomi, get to where there is a PMC soldier standing next to a claymore. Move northeast from there to find a metal plate on the ground with signatures and handprints from the game's developers. Note: Lay down on it to get the handprint design for your camouflage. Register it to memory, and you can use it whenever desired.
Hidden crop circle
When you are tracking Naomi's footprints in Act 2 after the Laughing Octopus fight, you will arrive to a river. Instead of crossing the river, look to your left. You will see another set of footprints. Follow these, and they will lead you to a crop circle where you will hear some strange dialog by the Colonel about an alien abduction.
Vomiting Snake
If you kill a large enough number of enemies in a conflict zone, you will hear Liquid from Metal Gear Solid say "You enjoy all the killing, that's why!", and Snake will vomit. Note: You can delay the vomiting by hugging the wall. The next time you kill someone, however, it will happen again until you finally vomit.
Glowing eyes
Use the Solid Eye with the Raiden A mask to make Snake's eyes glow.
Posing as statues
In Act 1, go to the place with the two broken statues. Press Triangle to climb up on the empty statue pedestal in that area. Press Triangle again, and Snake will assume a statue position, and the OctoCamo will blend in. Keep pressing Triangle, and Snake will grab the crotch of the statue next to him and eventually break off that part of the statue.
Altair costume posture
When wearing the Altair costume after unlocking it, there are some changes Snake will make to his posture. First, he stands with his hands by his sides and outstretched just like Altair, as opposed to hanging down in front of him with his fists clenched. This change will only occur when you do not have a weapon equipped. Second, where Altair had the ring finger on his left hand missing, Snake bends his up to give a similar visual effect. He will even keep his finger bent during intermission sequences in which the costume you are currently wearing appears.
Beauty And The Beast preview
In Act 1, when in the underground hanger/cave, you can use the Mk II to listen to a wounded PMC soldier's conversation. He will talk about the Beauty And The Beast group before you actually meet them.
Posing Beauties
When fighting any of the Beauties, successfully complete the first Boss phase (Beast form). After that they will come out of their protective suit and try to grapple you. If you run around long enough and prolong the time (usually about five to ten minutes), the screen will fade, and you will enter a white area all alone with the Beauty. Note: A timer will appear at the top of the screen. She will attempt to grapple again. Simply equip the camera, aim it at her, and she will pose for you. Click the camera on and off to get various poses. Eventually the timer will run out (3:00), and the Beauty will die. This works well when you want a new background for your PlayStation 3 because the game allows you to take in-game photos and send them to your homepage.
Play the "Oishii ChuhanSeikatsu" Japanese pop song on your iPod while fighting a Beauty. She will start dancing. If you aim a camera at her, she will pose.
Beauties straddle Snake
During any of the Beauties battles, lie down, and they will straddle Snake, then he will knock them off.
Beauty And The Beast magazine models
You can buy a magazine with pictures of the models that the Beauty And The Beast unit were based on from Drebin.
Japanese models on TV
Flick the TV remote with the Mk II to get Japanese models to appear on the television.
Barely dressed women
Flick the remote for the screen Campbell talks to you on with the Mk II to see pictures of ladies in their underwear.
Naomi's cleavage
When Naomi is in the Nomad and on the computer talking, use the Mk II to look at Otacon's computer. His webcam is focused on Naomi's cleavage.
Alternate Rose's shirt
During the third playthrough of the game, when you first meet Rose she will be wearing a new shirt.
Shake Rose's breasts
When you speak with Rose on the Codec, shake the Sixaxis to make her breasts move.
Reading Playboy magazine
To look through the Playboy magazine, press R1, then go into first person view. Then, hold L1 and press Circle to go through the pages. If the game puts you in third person view, press Triangle to enter first person view to see the models.
Akina Minami posters
There are two posters of Akina Minami in the Vista mansion. Look at them in first person view, and Snake will say her name and his Psyche gauge will increase.
Clearing areas
Clear an area of all enemies in Act 1 or Act 2. All the allied soldiers will begin to cheer. No additional enemies will respawn in those areas if you return.
Keeping Meryl safe
While fighting Psycho Mantis, CQC Meryl, and inject her with the syringe to take her safely out of the fight. Note: Mantis might take control of her again after awhile.
Bypassing Gekkos
Shoot five tranquilizer rounds into the legs of a Gekko. It will collapse and thrash around on the floor. You can walk past without being spotted while that is happening.
Easy Gecko kill
When you are in the basement lab at Shadow Moses and the Gecko appears, send the Mk II to the electric console to the right of the elevator. Note: This is the same console that was destroyed with the rocket in the original Metal Gear Solid. Use the Mk II to reactivate the electric floor and destroy the Gecko.
Defeating Vamp
In the first part of the battle against Vamp, after you get his health low enough, he will fall down. As he gets up, grab him in a CQC hold, and inject him with the syringe that you obtained earlier. This will disable his Nanites and make him mortal.
You do not have to deplete Vamp's health before CQC grabbing him. Hide and sneak up behind him for a CQC.
Instead of depleting his life, use a tranquilizer gun and shoot his head. He will fall down, immediately giving you the chance for the CQC.
Rats
Crawl around the vents in Shadow Moses to encounter Rats. When they see Snake, "!" will appear above their heads, accompanied with a sound. They will run away. Keep chasing them, and they will repeat the "!" alert. Following the rats is a good way to get in. If you call Otacon after you see the rats, Snake will talk about them and how they helped him before.
Long game advisory
If you complete a chapter after 4 a.m., a message will come up during the install screen (Snake smoking), suggesting that you get up and do some stretches, and saying that you have been playing awhile.
Mystery man
When tailing a resistance member, if you look behind Snake, you will occasionally notice a man with a hat and trenchcoat also tailing him. This is how the Scarabs found the hideout. If you try to shoot him, he will duck away around the corner and disappear.
Feminine guile comments
Wear one of the Beauty's face paints in Act 3. The Resistance will ask Snake, "Hey, are you looking for a real man?" The vehicle patrols will also honk at you as they drive by.
Otacon comments
Call Otacon a few times in Shadow Moses at the part where Snake originally fought Vulcan Raven in the tank (and is now where two sleeping Geckos are found). Otacon will say that "Snake is the craziest bad ass who ever lived."
Otacon tech support
Try to access any feature that requires Internet connectivity while not connected. A chat menu featuring Otacon will appear, and he will try to give you technical support.
Naomi reflection
During the Act 5 mission briefing, immediately after Otacon lights Snake's cigarette, he adjusts his glasses. When he does this, you can see a reflection of Naomi on their lenses.
Dancing Sunny
Play the "Oishii ChuhanSeikatsu" Japanese pop song on Snake's iPod. During that song, press Start to see Sunny dancing at the bottom left corner.
Sunny's song
In Act 3, while you are trailing the Resistance member, listen to his whistle. It is what Sunny will hum during mission briefings.
Liquid Ocelot kiss
At the third part of the final fight, when Liquid Ocelot grabs Snake by the neck, allow the controller to idle. After some time, Liquid Ocelot will kiss Snake on the cheek.
Message from Liquid
In Act 5, if you die and wait an extended period to select "Continue" or "Exit", you will hear Liquid say "It's not over yet, brother!", and the "Exit" button will change to read "Exist". Using it will move your selection over to "Continue", but then you will have the option to exit again.
After death messages
After dying, call Rose to hear a conversation about Snake having dreams of being killed or a comment from Snake saying that he feels like he has died once before.
Controlling briefing projector
During the Act 5 mission briefing, use the Left Analog-stick to change the projection's height on the screen. This will make some of the attendees angry.
Trailing wolves
Tranq Crying Wolf, and the wolves in that area will follow you.
Attacking wolves
In Act 4, kill one of the wolves after you defeat Crying Wolf. The others will attack you. Call Otacon, and he will wince. Call Rose, and she will tell you that animal cruelty is the first sign of criminal behavior, and says that she will have you psychologically assessed if you continue to kill them.
FROG soldier reaction to searches
Hold up a FROG soldier, and body search them. When you would normally ball crush a male prisoner, they will say "You men are all the same", "You're disgusting!", or "Ugh" and kick you.
When you search a FROG soldier when they have no items, she will giggle as if ticklish.
When you search a FROG soldier and touch her chest, sometime she will moan or say "You're pretty good at this".
Militia soldier execution
Sneak through the first part after the opening, and go through the buildings. At the building to the right of where the APC shows up, crawl under the rubble. You will see a militia soldier get brutally shot after pleading for his life.
No smoking sign
Whenever Snake is smoking there is always a no smoking sign behind him.
Urination
When tracking Naomi in Act 2, look to the right when crossing the river to see a guard relieving himself.
Follow the resistance member in Act 3 to see him urinating in the fountain in the small park.
In the central park during Act 3, there is a statue that Snake can interact and imitate. Stay in that pose until a resistance member appears, and he will urinate on you.
Boktai: The Sun Is In Your Hands reference
There is a gun called the "Stun Gun" which is actually a reference to one of Hideo Kojima's older games, Boktai: The Sun Is In Your Hands for the Game Boy Advance. This is confirmed when Solid Snake raises the gun towards the sun to recharge and yells out "Sunlight", much like the main character did in Boktai.
Hideo Kojima references
After defeating Screaming Mantis and immediately after Psycho Mantis vibrates your controller, keep pressing X to see Hideo Kojima.
If you prolong the Psycho Mantis fight long enough, the game will show the opening screen, except the word "Kojima" will replace "Konami". The game will then resume the Psycho Mantis fight.
Press L1 to examine the .50 Cal Anti-Material Sniper Rifle to see "Recommended by Hideo Kojima."
When Snake hides from the two Irvings next to the box of watermelons, the box reads "No Place For Hideo."

When you die in Act 4, the "Game Over" music from the first Metal Gear Solid will play.
After you die during the final Boss battle and select "Exit", it quickly changes to "Exist". Liquid Ocelot says "Not yet Snake, it's not over yet" and it moves the pointer back to "Continue". This is a reference to a quote by Liquid in the original Metal Gear Solid.

Go to an ATM, then cause a traffic jam to the area. Wait for someone to take money from the ATM, then kill him or her. Make sure to block any nearby roads so the ambulance cannot get to the murdered victim. Take the money they dropped on the ground. Then, run a short distance away, and go back. The money should have respawned on the ground. You can repeat this as many times as desired. After completing all of Stevie's 30 vehicle thefts, take a taxi to the Perseus on Pyrite Street and Bismarck Avenue. Walk to the Grotti car dealership with a baseball bat. Use your baseball bat to break open the window on the east side of the building near the tree that has a Turismo parked behind it. Try not to damage this car. Take the Turismo, and drive it to Stevie's car shop. Taking the Charge Island bridge to Bohan is the best route. Stevie will give you approximately $10,000 for the car, depending on its condition. You can then take a taxi back to the dealership and do it again.
Steal an armored truck, and blow it up to get approximately $1,100 from the piles of money surrounding the wreckage.
There is a glitch in Aldeney at the intersection of Tudor and Port Tudor, close to the prison where you visit Gerald. You can find a total of nine armored trucks arriving back-to-back. Highjack one, then block the road. Another one will appear. Blow them up one-by-one. There is a total of approximately $1,100 on each truck, which is especially useful when just starting out or if you need money.
Steal a Securicar, and blow it up to get approximately $1,000 from the piles surrounding the wreckage. To do this without getting a wanted level, you must drive it and get it damaged until it catches fire and explodes. Do not attack it with a weapon or you will get a two star wanted level. If the smoking Securicar stops running and still is not on fire, use your cell phone to call anyone, then hang up while it is dialing. The Securicar will start again, allowing you to do the last amount of damage to get it to catch on fire and explode.
Go to a strip club, and kill the strippers. Each one drops about five or six wads of cash, but all the guards will attack you.
Easily lower wanted level
If you want to get rid of your wanted level, simply start a mission. Your wanted level will instantly go away. If there were any police cars chasing you, the police will be gone but the cars will still be there. -From: D2
To lose your wanted level, simply enter a safehouse, and save your progress. When you wake up, your wanted level will be gone.
Repairing engine
If your vehicle breaks down and will not start, call any number saved in your cell phone or "911", and your engine should start again.
Quick repair
While in a vehicle, if you drive over a health pack, your health will be restored and any damage to your car will fully repaired. This is very useful while playing online in a vehicle that has caught fire.
Parking more vehicles
Outside your first hideout is a small parking area to park your vehicles and save them. Instead of parking your vehicles fully within the lines, you can park your vehicles partially within the lines to allow for more vehicles to be parked and saved. -From: Zane
At the start of the game it would appear that you can only save two vehicles parked in the "Residents Parking Only" parking spaces in front of your safe house. However, if you can find other "Residents Parking Only" places around the city, you can also save vehicles there even if you do not have a safe house at those locations yet.
If you attempt to use the trick to keep more than two vehicles in any one parking space, it will only work until you leave the current game session. If you shut off your system, play a multiplayer game, or load your most recent save, all but two of your vehicles will have disappeared. It seems to either save the two vehicles closest to the center of the parking space or two at random.
Fast travel
To avoid wasting time driving all the way across the city, call a taxi. They will take you to your destination for your mission, stores, safe houses, or even a waypoint marker. You can skip through the taxi ride, allowing you to travel across the entire city in about ten seconds. This can also be done during missions.
Easy Assassin's missions
Most of the Assassin's missions can be completed easier by using a helicopter. Land on a high position overlooking your target, and use the sniper rifle to kill them.
Easy headshots
It is sometimes difficult to get headshots, which do count. With some practice, doing the following is an easy way to get headshots. Press [Auto-Aim], then use the Right Analog-stick to move the auto-aim target around your victim's body. Barely move the Right Analog-stick as you are shooting. This puts bullets in the chest and head, and results in an easy instant kill.
Easy drive-by shootings
When you can, call Roman, and have him send a taxi to you. Let the taxi drive you around. You will be able to shoot at people without the driver stopping. He will also run past the cops and blockades as much as possible. When you get stuck, choose to end your ride at a destination without a wanted level.
Easy emergency vehicles
Dial "911" on your cell phone. You will reach a voice menu that allows you to call the police by dialing "1", an ambulance by dialing "2", or a fire truck by dialing "3". Select the vehicle of your choice, and wait for them to arrive. They will stop and look around for the emergency, allowing you to easily steal their vehicle.
Easy access to the Francis International Airport
Bring up your phone, and go to the SIXAXIS Tutorial. Once you have entered the tutorial, exit it, and you will be just outside the airport. Note: If you have a vehicle you want to keep, put it in a parking spot as this trick will not transfer the car with you. You must also lose your wanted level before performing this action, thus you cannot use it for an easy get away.
Getting away from police
When running away from the cops, you will have a circular area in which they look for you. However, if you get out and another cop sees you, it changes. To use this to your advantage, barely get out of that circle, which you will see on your radar. Then, just sit there for about five seconds instead of flooring past it.
If you are at a four star wanted level or less, find a place with grass or sand. The cops will follow you in, but they usually cannot get back out. You can then just drive away.
No wanted level when arrested
When you are being arrested by a cop, instead of pressing X immediately, press L3 to crouch. You will still be able to walk away, but you will not get a two star wanted level. -From: reaver456
Calling for backup
Steal a police car, and any time you are in trouble, press L1 while your car is stationary. Select "Call For Backup", and within minutes you will have two cruisers full of police who will fight on your side unless you shoot someone. Note: They will turn on you when they realize you are not a cop.
Killing blind firing enemies
To take out an enemy that is blind firing, aim for his shooting arm or hand while it is exposed. Once you wound him, he will usually stumble out of cover, giving you an easier kill.
Killing pedestrians without fighting
You can kill most pedestrians by repeatedly running into them against walls. This is a good way to get easy money without alerting the police.
Regaining health during missions
You can leave the mission area and go to a Cluckin' Bell, hotdog stand, etc. and eat food to replenish your health if you are low and cannot find a health pack. This is especially useful on missions where there are no health packs in sight. Note: You can also take a taxi to those locations during missions.
Avoiding toll booths
Drive through any toll booth with any emergency vehicle with the sirens on. The booth attendant will open the gate, and you will save $5.
Drive a normal car up to the toll booth. As you get close, slow down and jump out while making sure the car passes through the booth. Then, walk past the booth, and get in your car. -From: Mike
While in a vehicle or on a motorcycle, drive up to the toll booth. Stay on the far side of the booth. Niko will stick his arm out but not put money in the basket, and the gate will still open.
Drive a motorbike to the side of the pay toll wall. You will not pay a toll if you can drive through the small gap on the sides.
Free taxi rides
Get in a taxi, but do not skip the ride after choosing your destination. When you are approximately two blocks away from your destination, break the window, and start shooting. The cab driver will get out and run away, allowing you not to have to pay for the ride. You can also kill the cab driver and take his money, so he is actually paying you for the taxi ride. -From: DemonUrameshi Naruto
Free internet access
Some of your safehouses have a computer in them that will not charge the $1 fee. The Algonquin safehouse has a laptop in it, and is somewhat far away from some of the internet cafes.
Free health boost
Enter an ambulance to get a small health increase.
Free shotgun shells
Enter a police cruiser to get five shotgun shells.
Carbine rifle
Use a helicopter, boat, or simply swim to reach Happiness Island. Go inside the first door of the Statue Of Happiness. There will be a security guard with a carbine rifle. Kill him to get the Carbine rifle.
Getting Desert Eagle early
To get the Desert Eagle before you can buy it, kill the gun salesman in Broker that has it equipped, and then take it from him. Note: Doing this will prevent you from making any future purchases at this location. This will also cause bodyguards with shotguns to chase after you.
M-4 assault rifle
Go to the Easton area in Algonquin. At the Grand Easton Terminal, go up the stairs in front. Keep going around that floor until you see a small pond. Move past it until you see a turn going left. Go to the left to get in between a tall building and a smaller one. At the end of the passageway is a dead end. Turn and you will see a glowing orange garbage can. Behind it is an M-4 assault rifle.
Getting pistol and shotgun early
The following is an easy way to start the game with full pistol and shotgun ammo. Unlock the ability to save by sleeping on the bed in Roman's home. Getting the knife is also helpful. Go outside Roman's home, and kill a few people. The police will appear. Kill a police officer. He will drop his gun. Take it, then immediately run into Roman's home, and sleep on the bed. You can choose to save the game if desired. When you wake up, your wanted level will be down, and you will still have the pistol. Go back outside, and kill more pedestrians. When the cops appear, run up the stairs. Turn around at the top of the stairs, and face the door going outside of Roman's home. The cops will come through that door, and you can simply pick them off with your new pistol. Watch your health, and do not worry about picking up the guns. If your health gets low, you can sleep on the bed. Wake up, and when you go outside there will be lots of weapons. The shotgun will take longer because not every cop uses it. However, if you enter the police cars that have been abandoned outside the apartments, you can easily get five shells for the shotgun for each car you enter.
Getting Remington shotgun early
You can get the good shotgun early in the game by simply going to the strip club. On the way out, there is a manager's office that you can enter. There is a large Remington shotgun on the floor you can take.
Claude outfit
Kill Playboy X and get his penthouse. Then, save the game, and restart the PS3. When you reload your saved game, look through your outfits, and you should have Claude's outfit (the main character in Grand Theft Auto 3). Everything from the leather jacket, the green cargos, and the black shoes with the white stripe on the bottom should be there.
Hidden shirt
There is a secret Happiness Island shirt laying at the highest point on the statue's base that can be reached by foot. It looks like a glowing red rectangle. Once it is picked up, Niko will automatically put it on. It is a navy blue sweatshirt. The front shows the statue and reads "Happiness is..." and is continued on the back with the word "...land".
Niko in a bra
To wear a bra, go to the clothes store called Modo, and walk up to the cashier. It must be a female cashier for this trick to work. Knife the cashier, and stand over her body for one game hour. Travel back to Roman's apartment, and go to the wardrobe. You should now have an option to wear a bra. Wearing the bra will change NPC dialogue, and they will start saying things to you like "What the hell are you wearing man?!"
Ski mask
To unlock the ski mask so you can wear it anytime, successfully complete the "Three Leaf Clover" mission. It then becomes selectable as a hat in your wardrobe.

To get a unique yellow Comet, play the "No. 1" mission. This car is used in the street race. It is the same car as the DP Comet. Simply drive it to a parking spot to save it after the mission.

Quickly save the game, then reload. The truck should be waiting for you, shiny and new, even though it was dirty in the mission.

Use the following trick to get a unique light blue Marbelle. In the "Uncle Vlad" mission, Vlad drives this car during the chase. After completing the mission, take it back to your parking spot to save it. Be careful as it starts out heavily damaged.

Search in the top area of the residential district on the third main island.

To get a unique silver Merit, after completing the "First Date" mission, take it back to your parking spot to save it.

The ice cream truck can be found strolling around Broker and Dukes. When you steal an ice cream truck, turn the music on. It will change speed depending on how fast you are driving. If you reverse, so will the music. To cycle through the song played while driving, press L3 to start and stop it. The songs that are cycled through are "Dance Of The Sugar Plum Fairies", "Greensleeves", "Scarborough Fair", "Flight Of The Bumble Bee", and "Flight Of The Valkyrie".

Search the corner of Bismark Ave and Topaz in Lancaster.
Patriot
Search by the Castle Gardens.
A NOOSE Patriot can be found in the "Tunnel Of Death" mission. It is part of the convoy. You can take it, but this will cause the mission to fail.
To get a unique yellow Patriot, play the "Blow Your Cover" mission. This vehicle is provided for you and is parked outside as soon as the mission begins. Simply drive it to a parking spot to save it, then proceed with the mission as desired.
PCJ 600
To get a unique red PCJ 600 with gold rims, play the "I Need Your Clothes, Your Boots, and Your Motorcycle" mission. Gerry provides this bike for you at the start of the mission. Simply drive it to a parking spot to save it after completing the mission.
Phantom
This is an eighteen wheeler cab and can be found outside the first floor of the GL&S lawyers office building.
PMP 600
Search the alley by the Exchange District Bank in Algonquin.
Police Cruiser
A unique NOOSE Police Cruiser will appear randomly when your wanted level is at least four stars. This car has a different paint job than normal police cruisers, and the row of siren lights are a flat, small row, as opposed to the more prominent V-shaped row on normal cars. It can be found in the "Three Leaf Clover" mission.

In the "Escuela Of The Streets" mission, the dealers drive this vehicle during the scene after they arrive at the warehouse, when they get in and drive off. Search the driveway of a green house in Berchem.
Sultan RS
This car can only be found sitting in the northeastern-most part of the final island. It is stashed in some bushes behind the small shack up a dirt road.

Easy Stevie vehicle theft missions
Set a way point to one of the locations described in the "Stevie vehicle theft locations", then have a taxi drive you to the location. You will then only have to spend time driving to the garage in south Bohan.
Stevie vehicle theft locations
The following is a list of all 30 vehicle theft locations for Stevie's missions. Once you get a vehicle, take it to south Bohan, a bit east of the safe house there. The entrance is on the east side of it, where it says "S&M Auto Sales". To get the listed reward, you must bring the vehicle in perfect condition. Note: If you have to break the window to steal a vehicle, it does not devalue the vehicle reward. The vehicle reward only goes down when you bump into things.

Location: Bohan, Industrial. Look at the map of Bohan, in the southeast corner is a two lane highway going southwest and then just ends out on the water. Go under that highway, on the road that goes northwest to southeast. At the corner where that road turns east, just south of it, is the car.

Location: Alderney, Leftwood. The car is just north of the hospital. If you look at the map and see the northern Pay 'n' Spray, locate the road to the northwest that starts going west, makes a hairpin curve southwards, and then goes to the northwest. Where that road ends is a house with a small wall, and behind that small wall (visible from the street) is the car, parked facing west.

Location: Dukes, Downtown. Look for the circle in Outlook, with the big arch on it. Go north from it, and you will see the Infernus parked on the east street side facing north, in front of a place that has a "Pizza Salad" sign on it.

Location: Broker, Rotterdam Hill. Take the road that is south of the weapons shop, and go west on it. Follow it generally to the northwest then west again. The road then makes a curve to the southeast. Before the curve is where the Intruder is parked. There is also a hot dog stand there. The car faces west.

Location: Dukes, Heights. One block east of the Cluckin' Bell in Cerveza Heights, you will see an old burger shop that is no longer open. The Manana is parked on the south side of it facing west. The block it is on has an alley on the map that goes from east to south.

Location: Charge Island. The street on Charge Island in the northeast goes close to the water front. Just as it curves back to the southwest, there is a parking lot (darker grey area on the map). The Moonbeam is in the middle of the southern end, facing north.

Location: Algonquin, Lancaster. From the northeast corner of Middle Park, go east one block, then turn south. The bike is parked on the east side of the street in the middle of this block, facing north.

Location: Algonquin, The Triangle. From the Cluckin' Bell, go south, and take the second road east. Stop at the next corner, and look to the southeast. There is a restaurant with a crab logo. Location: Parked in a drive way facing north, in Dukes. Drive on the road that is to the east of the large circle in Meadows Park to the north. At the corner of the street that goes east in a slight southward wave, stop. It is well south of the two large circles. Look to the northeast, there is a house there with a drive way and a two door garage. The Sabre GT is parked in front of the right one.

Location: Alderney, Normandy. Go west from the Booth tunnel, take the second one south, and then turn left again. There is a Tudor Port sign on your right. The car is behind the sign and before the gates ahead. It is parked facing north, on the west side of the road leading into the gated area.

Location: Alderney, Westdyke. Go from the northern car wash. Take the road south of it to the west, then south. Turn east, and when the next road goes off to the south, stop. Just to the north of here in that block is a house that has a marking of an alley in a T shape on the map. It is the western most one. In the northeast corner of that T is the Turismo.
Voodoo

Location: Dukes, East Island City. As you come off the East Borough Bridge, follow this road until it ends and you run right into it. It is parked on the east side of a street; to the east is a large tower form LC24; to the southeast a hotdog stand; and a bit to the southwest is a police station. Be careful of those cops.

Faster motorcycles
Note: A PCJ600 or NRG900 is recommended for this trick. To drive faster, accelerate, and just as your bike is about to shift into third gear, tap the Left Analog-stick repeatedly about every second. Do not tap it too fast or you will lose rear tire grip. If done correctly, the engine will gradually get near to the end of its last gear. When it gets to the end of its last gear, the revs will jump to indicate that you are travelling at the bike's top speed.
Moving up stairs faster
Instead of running up a set stairs, try jumping up them to move faster.
Self-healing fire truck
If your fire truck catches on fire, use its water cannon to put out the flames and prevent it from exploding.
Avoiding calls
To avoid being interrupted during a mission by a friend or wanting to explore the city without getting a call for another mission, bring up the cell phone menu. Enter the "Options" menu, and turn "Sleep Mode" on.
Change police siren
Get in a police car, and turn on the sirens. Hold [Horn] to cycle through alternate siren sounds until released.
Shooting people with water cannon
Steal a fire truck, then press [Fire] while driving around to shoot the super water cannon at people around you. You will get many funny reactions from the people that you shoot with it.
Driving on roller coaster
Steal a Blista Compact or another small sports car, and drive to the abandoned roller coaster in Broker on Firefly Island. Knock down the section of fence next to the road near the ticket booths. Drive onto the section of tracks that is almost level with the ground. Drive your car around the roller coaster. You may get stuck on the turns, but you can carefully squeeze by them with careful driving.
Getting tossed by friend
Invite a friend to hang out with you. Gently nudge him with your car, enough to knock him over but not enough to hurt him. After a few times, he will open the car door and throw you out.
Friend in hospital
If a friend gets run over by an NPC on the way to see you, you will only be able to get his voice mail. A few in-game days later he will call, asking to be picked up from the hospital.
Bumping into an officer
When you see a cop on the sidewalk, you can push past him like any other pedestrian while walking. However, if you continue to push and pester a cop, even if you do not have a weapon or throw a punch, he will attempt to arrest you.
Burnout
While in a car, hold [Accelerate] + [Brake] to do a burnout. If you keep doing this, the smoke will change color and eventually your tires will burst.
Easy 360s
Gain some speed in a car, then hold [Handbrake] until you have completed a full 180. Just before you complete the 180, release [Handbrake] and hold [Brake], which will spin you the next 180 degrees. However, some vehicles cannot do this. Also, with some vehicles, holding [Brake] will spin you back the way you came while using the handbrake, resulting in back-to-back 180s.
Easy strikes in bowling
Select the first lane (all the way to the left). Take two full steps to the left. Hold Right Analog-stick Down for about a half second, then press Right Analog-stick Up. Do not add any aftertouch to the throw.
View Statue Of Happiness' heart
Once you gain access to Happiness Island, find the Helicopter Tours, which is directly east of Happiness Island, and steal a helicopter. Fly to Happiness Island and over the Statue Of Happiness, then jump out of the helicopter at the statue's feet. You should land on the top-most tier of the statue, which is basically a square platform with a door in the center of each side. Run around the platform until you see a door with a plaque on either side of it that reads, "No Hidden Content Here". It may seem like you cannot go through the door, but you can -- it doesn't open, you simply walk through the door. You will find an empty room with a tall ladder inside. Online dating
You can date people from the in-game internet. When looking at their profile, click "Date". You will then have to wait a few in-game days for a negative or positive reply via email. If your date accepts, reply to their email, and meet them.
Lap dance duet at strip club
Go to a strip club, and reserve a lap dance. After the performance is done, she will ask if you want another, accept twice, and she will bring another girl into the room for a duet.
Brucie's tattoos
The tattoo on Brucie's breast means "I" in Chinese. The tattoo on his right forearm means "straightforward person". The tattoo on his left forearm means "unqualified". The tattoo on his waist actually means "shemale".
Lola the lollypop girl
Lola is a prostitute in the game. She can be found near the docks. Search the Police Database for Lola del Rio, and it will tell you her location.
Finding Eddie Low the serial killer
Throughout the game the radio, television, and internet talk about a serial killer. You can meet him in an alley close to the Auto Eroticar dealership in Alderney. When you get close to the alley, a circle called "friend" will appear. He will ask you for a ride. You can then hear all the crazy things he has to say.
Visiting your kidnapped victim again
While driving through southern Alderny soon after completing Garry's kidnapping missions, you my noticed a blip on the radar. Drive to the small house, and you will see the mob daughter who screams and calls for help. Her father and several gangsters will appear and attack you.
Getting inside the Alderny Correctional Facility
Steal a helicopter, and fly over the top of the prison. Land on the basketball courts to avoid getting a wanted level. After entering the prison, you can see prisoners talking with each other, eating on the benches, a crazy prisoner, and correctional officers on patrol.
Sex toys
Pink vibrators can be found all throughout Liberty City. A good place to look is in the warehouse where the final mission takes place. Search in the little bundles of trash on the ground on the inside of the warehouse. They can be found elsewhere, but this is a good place to look as it is also the starting location of Party mode.
There is a purple dildo sticking out of a pile of trash under the stairs by Salvatore's mansion.
Hospital sex poster
There is a funny hospital poster in the north Alderney hospital on Long John avenue. You will go inside the hospital for a mission. On the left hand side when you walk in, read the sex poster. It may help if you use your camera or a sniper rifle to zoom in.

Zoom in on the magazine in Playboy X's penthouse coffee table. Brucie is on the cover of "Money Maker" magazine with the subtitle "How To Spend It Wisely".
Mid-air cars
While in a helicopter, preferably the Annihilator, enable a code to spawn a vehicle. The vehicle will either float in the air motionless, fall at high speeds, or hit your rotor and spin off.
Stopping police siren
Shoot out a police car's lights with a gun to make the siren malfunction.
No helmet on motorcycle
Use the following trick to ride a motorcycle without Niko wearing a helmet. Tap Triangle at any point during the animation where Niko puts the helmet on, but before the helmet actually appears. Doing this cancels the animation, and Niko will not wear his helmet. If you wait too long and press that button after the helmet has appeared in Niko's hand, it will still cancel the animation, but the helmet will immediately appear on Niko's head.
Honking traffic jam
Drive up to an intersection, and start honking your horn. Other vehicles will join in and honk as well. If you honk your horn near a police car, they will run their siren to honk with you.
While stopped in a vehicle in a large traffic jam, tap out the rhythm of the musical phrase "Shave and a haircut" with your horn. Another car in the traffic jam or pedestrian will answer it with the standard two beep "two bits" response.
License plate messages
Certain vehicles have funny notes on their license plates cover or border. For instance, the "Ruiner" 1980's Camaro clone has the saying "Ruining Imports Since '67".
British pedestrian
On Lockowski Ave., there is a British man in the auto car dealership. If you bump into him he will shout things like "You wanker" and so forth.
Karate pedestrian
At the bottom area of Broker is a beach. Continue to the edge nearest to Algonquin to see a pedestrian practicing karate.
Ratman
Walk in the darkest parts of the subway, and you might find someone called "Ratman". When you get close to him, he will say said he is Ratman but will then run very fast down the subway. You will not be able to catch up with him.
Fall through ground
Drive a large vehicle, such as an SUV, to Francis International Airport. Drive sideways under a moving plane so that the wheels are pushing into you. Sometimes you and the car will drop below the world. After a few seconds, you will respawn back on land with the vehicle gone.
Get to the part where you go into the subway about halfway through the mission "Your Shirt, Your Boots, Your Motorcycle". Stay to the left. When the subway car comes towards you, keep left, and try to get in-between the wall and the subway car. Doing this will drop you into "blue hell" for a few seconds before popping you back up.
Go to "Fishmarket South" (where you do one mission for Bernie). Find the Anchor statue near the sea. Go towards the water and over the little dock into the water. Swim to the right (south) until you see a wooden "pier" against the wall. It should have square gaps that you can hop through. Jump through the one to the far right (the first one you swim past), and move towards the wall. You will fall down into "blue hell".
Swim under city
Go to the north part of the map, just northwest of Butterfly Street in Bohan. Then, get down to the outskirts of the land, and walk towards the corner between the brick wall and the cliff. You can walk through the invisible wall. Lookup towards the city to see the city from below. You can also continue onwards and swim under the city.
Skull box inside Packie's head
Position Packie between the camera and Niko. Move until the camera is inside Packie, and look at the center of his head to find a box with skulls.
Random character missions
There are a total of 22 total random character missions. All except Jeff, Cherise, Ivan, and Clarence count towards 100% completion. There are six on the first island (three for Brian, and one each for Mel, Ilyena, and Badman), twelve on the second island (three for Jeff, two each for Marnie, Sara, and Pathos, and one each for Hossan, Clarence, and Cherise), and four on the third island (two for Eddie Low, and one each for Gracie and Ivan). Note: The missions for Ivan, Clarence, and Cherise are only available if you allow them to live during the storyline missions. The random characters only appear after the following missions:

Location: He and his gang are hiding out in Steinway, in the large park to the west. Go to the road east of them, then hop over the wall. There is a small wall down there that will give you cover. You can take all four of them out from there.

Location: He and his friends hide in the train station at South Slopes. Go there, and go up the stairs. He has three helpers with him. Be careful as it is very crowded.

Location: He and three friends are on foot. Look for the blip location, and go to the road west of it. The GPS will lead you to the one east of it. As you get close, they will run to the street here. Run them over or shoot them. They will go north and split up at the end of the street. Kill them before that happens to save time.

Location: He hides out in Hove Beach. He will come out in a car with three of his friends to the south of the blip. They will then make a run for it. Keep up with them. Try to kill the driver as that will get them to stop and get out, or just spray the car with bullets.

Location: He is in Meadows Park, to the northeast of the big circle. He will make a run for it when you are close, but on foot. Run him over or gun him down.

Location: He hides out in the northeast of Bohan. Approach him from the east. You can then gun them all down or blow up their two cars with a rocket launcher. The rockets are expensive; only use them if they try to get away. You can usually just snipe them, even out of the car as they move. If they take off, steal a car, and follow and kill all of them.

Location: There are two people at the airport. When you approach, one is in a car. The other person stays near the gatehouse where the blip was. Hunt down the one in the car first, then return for the other person. Do not get too close to that second person because he has a shotgun.

Location: They hide out in a junkyard in Bobao. Approach it from the southeast. As you go down the road, stop and pull out a sniper rifle. From up here, you can kill a fair number of them. With their ranks thinned, go down, and take out the rest.

Location: Freddy is north in a parking lot in Steinway close to the waterfront and to the west of the bridge going north. As you get closer, you will see Freddy and three friends pull out in a car. Shoot the car until it explodes or they bail out, then kill them all.

Location: He is in North Holland, in the block across the northwest corner of Middle Park. As soon as you get close, he will make a run for it in a Banshee. At first, he is rather slow. Try to get close, and shoot him out of the driver's seat. If that does not work, he will speed up. Keep shooting his car until it breaks down so he goes on foot or it explodes.
Jimmy Kand

Location: He is in the northern area of the X building in Northwood, the same one Dwayne is at. Enter it through the south, and use the stairs, just to the right and then around the corner to your left. On the first floor, you will notice that the red target icon changes from an up arrow to a circle. That means you are on the correct floor. Ignore everyone else, and shoot Jimmy in his room as he lays there passed out.
Simon Nashly

Location: He and his gang hide out in Fishmarket South in the building with the sign Pier 45 on it that looks like a "#" sign on the map. You will find them all over the different levels of this building, and they move around. Watch the radar closely to get their positions to find them all. Do not worry if cops show up as you can also kill them. Your wanted level goes away as soon as you kill the last of the gang.

Location: As you approach him in Castle Garden City, he will take off on a bike driving north form his starting position. Ram him with your car, then drive over him or shoot him.

Location: He is standing with two friends on the northeast corner of the apartment building on the south area on Colony Island. Kill his friends while he runs away, then chase him down. He moves south towards the old hospital.
Lino Friddell

Location: He and two of his friends are close to Middle Park. As you approach the blip, they will run to the east in the alley, then go north to an SUV parked there. If they make it, they drive off, and you have to chase them down. Two easy ways to kill them are to drive into that alley and run them over or drive to the alley in the north, and as they go for the SUV, and kill them. This also helps you block the SUV in case they do make it there.
Juan Haimo

Location: He is found near the north end of Star Junction. When you get close, three bikes will take off from there to the east. Stand where they come out, and shoot them before they can get anywhere. Kill any that you can. If one makes off, chase him. Bump the bike to make him fall off, then drive over him or shoot him.

Location: He hides with five of his friends in a parking garage in Purgatory. You can get up there over a ramp to the south. When you get the red targets, stop, and get out of the car. Take out your sniper rifle, and shoot the people from this distance. Stand east of the barrier. By doing this, they will most likely not have a chance to hit you. You can also use the RPG on one of the cars to kill them, but the sniper rifle is cheaper and almost as effective.

Location: He is in a building just south of the three X buildings in East Holland. The entrance is on the north side, to the very east of the building. When you stand in front of it, the entrance is to the left and to the right is a blue banner on the buildings reading "Real Loose Clothing". The first one is just on the first landing. The second one is on the other side where the steps go up again. Exactly one level above that one is the third person. The next level is clear. Another person stands at the landing of the next level. Then, go up to the door leading to the roof. Shoot the door, and immediately to the right behind it is the next person. The last person hides on the roof, to the right around the corner and behind a small wall when you get out there.

Location: He is in a building in Fishmarket South, just north of the Broker Bridge near the waterfront, with a lot of garbage trucks parked to the south. One of the story missions also brings you to this exact building. All of them are hidden in there. Snipe them from the south when you get past the fence. Anything that is not reachable that way (for example, the person in the upper level just to the left when you enter) will need to be killed close up. The rest should be easy kills with the sniper rifle without you getting hit.

Location: He is hiding next to the Pay And Spray in the north. Drive to the first street to the south of the one in front of the shop. You can use a rocket launcher to blow up the car in front, doing a lot of damage to them. However, this is very expensive with little pay off. Instead, use the sniper rifle, and kill what you can from here. They will not come at you. Get closer, and kill those still hiding. You can do this easily without a single shot hitting you.

Location: He hides out at the port area in Normandy. These people also stay in place, around the large tanks close by. Watch the map to see targets that are above you, but most are on ground level. The last two hide between the containers to the southwest.

Location: He sits with his friends in two Patriots to the west of the TW@ Internet Cafe. Approach them from the north using the street just east of the blip. When you get the red targets, get out of the car with an assault or carbine, and target the men in the cars. You should be able to kill at least one of them by doing this. They often also stop, and you can easy pick all four off the streets. If they get moving, get in your car again, and hunt them down. They drive very close around the blocks all the time. You can also try to wait at a corner and blow them up with a rocket launcher, but that is unnecessary expensive.
Frederick Harrison

Location: He and his friends hide in Tudor, near the old bridge. One of the men is to the south under the bridge itself. The rest all hide up on the bridge. As you go up, check behind you. They like to shoot you in the back. Use your sniper rifle when you can see them from afar.

Location: He and a lot of his gang are hiding out in a multi-storey car park in Leftwood, slightly to the north from the Pay And Spray. Go to the southwest corner here, and enter through the door in the south wall. In here is a Sprunk soda machine. If you need some health while doing this, it will help. Go through the next door to the north. Follow the ramps just slightly to your right. Go up the levels. There are a few hiding behind pillars here, but the main force is on the roof. As you go up, use your sniper rifle to kill them. The last of them make a stand in the northeast corner. Remember the Sprunk machine at the entrance to refill your health if needed.

Easy escape path in Holland Nights mission
As you are going up the stairs to chase Clarence, you will see a green health kit. Do not take it. Continue chasing Clarence, and follow the advice of McCleary about not using your weapon until you are on the second floor; otherwise, Clarence will just get into a vehicle and leave. If you wait until you are on the second floor, he will climb to the roof. After you have chosen Clarence's fate, you will instantly get a three star wanted level regardless of what you selected. You must battle your way out. Since you are going down, you have a distinct disadvantage in cover and will take lots of damage. To give yourself an advantage, park a fast car on the street near the opening in the gate at the start of the mission. Do not pull up to the gate. Use the stairs to your right to give chase. Once you have gotten to the roof and chosen his fate, descend to the level with the first aid kit (green box). Since you left it there on your way up, you will know what level you are on and can power up. Go to the side of the building where your car is parked, and jump over the railing. You will not lose much health when you land. Sprint to your car, and get away from the cops. If done correctly, you should not take a single bullet from police. The health pack is a requirement to survive the fall.
Zombie costume in Multiplayer mode
In ranked online Multiplayer mode, either reach rank 2 or kill a Rockstar employee. Bring up the cellphone menu, select "Multiplayer", then scroll down to "Player model", and select it. Press L1 to access a costume that turns you into a zombie wearing only Rockstar underwear. While in the costume, press L1 to make sounds.

Reach the part of the game where Niko and Roman have a safehouse in South Bohan. In the house on the left of the table near the television is a pile of books. This is an reference to the movie 300 where in the "This is Sparta!" scene, the lines "This is blasphemy! This is madness!" are spoken.
Le Fin Absolue Du Monde
This film is referenced in the city and in the in-game internet. Go by Frankfort Ave. in Algonquin to find a poster of a movie called "The Flying Whore". That poster is a reference to Le Fin Absolue Du Monde, the fake deadly-film featured in the short movie Cigarette Burns by John Carpenter in the Masters Of Horror series on TV. To see a funny review of that movie, search for it at the online cultural magazine of Liberty City through the in-game internet.
Point Break
In Packie's "Three Leaf Clover" mission, while Michael is watching the hostages, one of the men on the floor turns to a man next to him and tells him that he is a member of a gun club and when the time is right they will fight back. When Michael is distracted, the man stands up, shoots Michael, then in turn is killed by Packie and his brother. This is a reference to the bank heist in the movie Point Break.

Grand Theft Auto 3
In the first mission, when you give Roman a ride to a betting shop, on the other side of the road is a shop called "Mr. Wong's", which is reference to Mr. Wong in Grand Theft Auto 3. Also, there are Furgons in the city.
Salvatore's run-down mansion can be found in Alderney, near Beaverhead Ave. and Cassiar Ave.
Across the road from the Bank Of Liberty is a building with some artwork of El Burro, D-Ice and 8-Ball from Grand Theft Auto 3 and the GTA 3 box art, all mixed in with some generic graffiti.
Once you are free to go anywhere, on the first island, go to the map to see an 8-ball logo. When you go there, it is a bar called 8-Ball, an obvious reference to 8-Ball from Grand Theft Auto 3.
Go to Brucie's auto shop. Then, go south down the road. Just before the turn, you can find a wooden Belly-Up fish crate on the sidewalk. Belly-Up Fish was one of the Triad controlled businesses in Grand Theft Auto 3.
In the "Portrait Of A Killer" mission, look opposite of all the gang members you have to kill, at the wall on the big house with three fire stairs on it. You can see an image of a woman holding a gun. She can also be found on the cover art from Grand Theft Auto 3.
On the last island is a destroyed boat and factory. In Grand Theft Auto 3, you destroyed a drug boat for the mob. The boat is at the very top part of the island.

After you have access to the Bohan apartment, look on the floor next to the table using a sniper rifle. You will see some albums, one of which is by Og Loc. Og Loc was a character from GTA: San Andreas.
Watch the Weazel and CNT channels on the television at your hideout. You will see various locations from San Andreas.
The "www.freejames.org" and "www.area53site.com" websites allude to James Pedeaston and Marvin Trill, DJs on WCTR in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. James has been arrested and has a charity set up for his legal funds (with only $23 in it), and Marvin Trill has shut down his show to protect his research.
While watching television in a safehouse, a commercial featuring a NASCAR-like racing event will appear. All of the clips showing the racing are shot from GTA: San Andreas at the airport in Los Santos, using a Hotring Racer.
While watching television in a safehouse, flip through the channels until the "I'm Rich" show is on. After it ends, another episode of it will return, but is not the same episode. Watch through it. Exit your safehouse on Broker, and go to your right down the street. When you get to the intersection, turn right. The second shop is called the "Hot Coffee Shop". This a reference to the "Hot Coffee" mod from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
After your first date with Michelle, try to take it further when dropping her off at home. Go on a date with Carmen. She might talk about how she hates living in Bohan and wanted to live in Algonquin. She will then say how Algonquin was too expensive, and says that she would like to live in Los Santos.
Go behind the Memory Lanes bowling alley on Firefly Island, and explore the golf course. Walk around until you see a chicken. It is a miniature version of the giant Feed Seed chicken located in the desert in Las Venturas. You can also find a wind turbine from the game.

Hint: Easy MP Training
Below are two great techniques for MP training in the game.
Blast/Force (enemy): Head over to the Dry Land Station X (where there are four X Virus towers). These towers sit at the bottom of an amphitheater-like area, and around them spawn small scorpion enemies. Lure these enemies in the lower pit nearby and stand above them. From a heightened position, these enemies can’t successfully attack you, and you can reach them with all sorts of attacks (such as Fire, Bolt, or Ice). If you are using a Force Tech like Bind or Sleep, stand at the edge of the heightened area to reach the enemies. The enemy scorpions respawn indefinitely as long as you reenter and then exit again from the Virus Lab.
Heal/Force (allies): Head to a purple or yellow healing spot to easily recover lost MP as you train with the Heal Tech and the Force Tech (such as with Resist and Speed). If you’ve yet to unlock the aforementioned Dry Land area in Station X, there is a purple station before Doom Dome that can be used. If Dry Land is unlocked, however, consider heading to the Ancient Ruins, where a yellow station can be found on the very first floor.

Recommended car to start off with
The best start car the game, is the Lexus IS300 - keep it until you get the Eclipse. More info on the best cars is coming soon, check back later!
Faster start
When the start countdown is running; try to keep your tacho meter needle in the blue, preferably green area. That way you will accelerate noticeably faster. This is particularly useful in drag races, getting that extra edge on your opponent! It's pretty tricky to do if you're using a keyboard, but with a controller/joystick/wheel this isn't a big challenge.
Using your nitro for cleaner driving
Nitro gives you a large torque boost, so it slams back your rear. That you can use as an advantage! When you're getting unstable and about to lose traction, use a bit of NOS to straighten up again. You can combine this little trick with the Speedbreaker, and take almost every turn at any speed!

When you defeat one of the opponents on the black-list, you'll get two marks to use on several different things. Don't use them on the Uniques early in the game. Instead, use them on the left or middle "Random" choices. Those should usually be large cash prizes, or the opponent's Pink Slip.
Easy money 2
If you sell a car with upgrades on it, or sell the same car without any upgrades, you recieve the same price. So it doesn't take a genious to figure this out: if you have a car with mods on it that you want to sell, first go to the mod shops and sell the upgrades!
Maximum Cars
The maximum amount of cars is 25. The maximum amount of cars you can buy is 10 but with the 15 blacklist vehicles that you can win you can have a maximum of 25 cars.
Faster Startup
If you want NFSMW to start up faster you can easily skip the movies when you star the game. You can skip the EA logo, Josie Maran's safety talk and the little racing movie.1. Go to the directory where you installed NFSMW. (Standard it's C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Need for Speed Most Wanted)2. Go to the map called "MOVIES" and look for the following files: attract_movie, ealogo and psa. Behind these filenames are also the language you choose to install the game with and either PAL or NTSC.3. Rename these files (or delete them, this might cause problems updating NFSMW) by just putting something behind them. (I use _orig)4. Run the game and you'll notice that the movies at the start wont be shown again.

heres a great tip that helps me with some of the "Timed" milestones. If you need to get a pursuit to last for a very long time, but can't do it, check ur map and try to find the bus station. its between ur safe house and the border line to the other city. Once you have cops, drive up the the platform at the bus station. cops are not smart enough to know to go up the ramp so you can just sit there as long as they can see you, until you choose to drive away. Thats how i beat ronnie's 8 minute milestone on ps2
